STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT- HONOR CHOIR:  Every year, advanced music students from throughout Southern California are invited to audition for the Regional Honor Choir. This year, we had 4 students audition and they were all selected.  Canyon High School has more students in Honor Choir than any school in our district.  Congratulations to Ana Martinez, Sabrina Pacheco, Timothy Cunningham, and Sammy Feitlin!  We are so proud of your hard work and we're excited to see you represent the Comanche’s in Honor Choir!

SANTIAGO CANYON COLLEGE:  Good morning Canyon High School Seniors:  There will be a representative from Santiago Canyon College here on campus EVERY Wednesday for weekly visits from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. in the Counseling Office.  Her name is Vanessa Ramirez, and she will be a resource for you to ask questions about Community Colleges, Financial Aid such as FAFSA and Dream Act; majors and certificate programs; intercollegiate sports teams; and other questions you may have.

If you would like to make an appointment with her, please talk to your school counselor, OR write your name down on the Sign-up sheet located in the Counseling Office.

LIBRARY:  Need some academic help? A little clarity? There are NHS Tutors after school in the library Monday through Thursday.  After Thanksgiving Break, there will also be a Canyon High School math teacher providing math tutoring after school in the library, Monday through Thursday.

COMMUNITY WIDE FUNDING CAMPAIGN FOR CANYON HIGH SCHOOL:  The Canyon High School Week of Giving is coming, November 27th to December 1st.  Spread the word, and join us as we reach out to our community, our families, and our alumni to raise the $800,000 Canyon needs to renovate our forty-four year old gym.

We need new bleachers with an ADA compliant design that is wheelchair accessible, new wood flooring to replace the warped and worn out surface, and fresh paint.  All families and businesses that donate $333 or more will receive special recognition on a new donor wall in the renovated gym.

As a reminder, the Measure S funds can only be used for educational buildings, like the new upcoming science labs and classrooms. So we need to work together to make this happen. If the funds are raised, we could start this project as early as this summer.

Show your "Commitment to the C" and get your family to donate. For more information and to donate go to www.canyonhs.foundation

UPCOMING DECEMBER VOLUNTEERING EVENTS FOR COMANCHES CARE:  The Comanche’s Care Club meeting is Wednesday, November 29th at lunch in Room 114 (Mr. Heck’s classroom).  They will be discussing future events.

CAP, GOWN AND GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS: Seniors, if you failed to order your Cap, Gown, Tassel and Graduation Announcements and Senior Remembrance items at school, you may still order direct to the Company by mail until Wednesday, December 6th.  Extra ordering packets are available in the Student Center.  This will be your last chance to order these items.
